Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium

I had a wonderful time exploring variety of marine animals in the amazing aquarium. A fun experience for all by exploring multi-media activities, variety of colors, shapes and sizes many species, including seahorses, jellyfish, octopus, giant squid, alligators, eels and sharks. There are three river otters that are a joy to watch above and below water, as they play, race, wrestle, eat and swim right up to the glass. The aquarium is home to over 100 marine species, 135,000-gallon shark habitat, shark habitat, manatee, sea turtle, river otter, and more exhibits, the world’s largest grouper species and last but not the least the Immersion Cinema that features a 40-foot-wide HD screen and interactive console that allows you to affect the outcome of the movie. It’s also a great place for kids to have fun and educational tour of life cycle of the sea, feeding animals, special kids holiday-themed events and as well as a better understanding of sea animals via technology and competitions.

Botanical Garden

The Botanical Garden has many special events, offer ongoing classes, summer camp for children and various school programs, garden music series and art exhibits throughout the year for kids to explore nature through sensory centers, themed art and science activities, stories and free play. It’s the only botanical garden in the world focused on epiphytes, non-parasitic plants that grow on other plants like orchids and bromeliads. With 9 acres of breathtaking and colorful displays, have an impressive 20 different habitats and more than 20,000 exotic plants such as bamboo, live oaks, mangroves, succulents, and much more.
